Sudipta, a heard the same question about vegetables in a discussion program, where Sunita Narayan was present. She answered that at least vegetables have some nutritional contents, which cold drinks entirely lacks, pesticides or no pesticides.

However, I agree with your statement that most people just keep guzzling it down to be a part of the 'hip-hip' crowd.
