Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad afraid of the Power of Communication!
Hats off to those who invested sleepless nights to invent this modern day communication tool called internet. The brutal regimes and their perpetrators trembles before this mighty tool. And how he banned internet and social media in Iran.

Don’t you think that if he has successfully banned the Net and all social networking sites in his country, he is more resourceful and powerful than we would like to imagine, Alka?
Politicians have been around for a much longer time than recent technological marvels, and I fear they will always find a way to exploit the latest tech tools for their own convenience (as Barack Obama did to network with supporters and raise funds over the Net) or get around whatever ‘threat’ they pose! They don’t lack brains, and besides, techies work for politicos, and never the other way round…

Here I take inspiration from history. No matter how mighty and powerful the rulers and their systems were they were always afraid of might of pen. And a keyboard and mouse are extension of pen. It took time but they always get defeated by pen. That’s why they banish teachers, writers, painters and philosophers from country. If one is banning something it doesn’t show that he is powerful but afraid.
And even Mainstream Media doesn’t like internet in liberal countries. Today if our politicians do something we dislike hundreds start blogging. You know we no longer depend on “letter to editor.”
